Sharing the Olympic Dream
It reaches a fever pitch for 17 days every two years. Across the country, we are one - eating, sleeping and breathing the quest of Canada's athletes. The ones who have spent years training, pushing and sacrificing for the chance at Olympic and Paralympic glory.
Daring to dream isn't always easy. To help make it easier for these athletes and coaches, GM Canada has pledged millions of dollars in support. 10 more grants awarded to our Olympic hopefuls!
On March 25, 2009, 10 Canadian high performance coaches and their Olympic hopeful athletes were awarded $10,000 grants for coach development through GM Canada's Making Dreams Possible Program. In addition, 52 community clubs across Canada received a grant of $2,000 each for coach training and development activities.
GM's direct support of coach education and development through this program has impacted over 14,000 coaches and over 168,000 athletes in 155 communities across the country.
